Find out whether a room is actually ventilated

You cannot tell how stale a room has got by standing in it. A carbon dioxide reading tells you, because people are the source and the number climbs when fresh air stops arriving.

Ventilation, in one number

Outdoor air sits around 400 to 420 ppm. Under 800 indoors means air is moving through. Above roughly 1000 to 1500 and the room is recycling its own air.

Three readings, one screen

Carbon dioxide, temperature and humidity together, with no switching modes. The three numbers that describe a room's air, side by side.

Updates every second

Open a window and watch the number fall. That two minute test tells you whether a room genuinely clears, which matters more than any single reading.

An alarm, so nobody has to watch

The portable meter sounds when carbon dioxide climbs past the threshold, so a room gets noticed rather than waiting for someone to check a screen.

Big enough for a room to read

The jumbo wall display is built to be read across a classroom or an office. A number on a wall gets acted on. A number on a desk gets checked weekly.

Straight about what it is not

These measure carbon dioxide, not dust or VOCs, and they are not carbon monoxide alarms. Our ozone machines treat odours in empty rooms and are not filter purifiers.

Frequently asked questions

Carbon dioxide monitors, ozone machines for odour treatment, and a small set of accessories. That is the whole range.
How well a room is ventilated. People breathe carbon dioxide out, so if fresh air is not replacing the air in a room, the level climbs.
Outdoor air is around 400 to 420 ppm. Under 800 ppm indoors usually means air is moving through the room. Above roughly 1000 to 1500 ppm the room is recycling its own air.
Treat it as a ventilation signal rather than a danger reading. It means the room needs more fresh air, not that anything harmful has been detected.
No. Nothing in our range measures particulate matter. If you need PM2.5 or PM10, you need a particulate meter, which we do not sell.
No. Volatile organic compounds are not covered by anything we stock.
No, and this matters. Carbon monoxide is a different gas and needs its own alarm. If you have any fuel burning appliance, fit a proper CO alarm and do not rely on a CO2 monitor.
The compact meter if one person is checking rooms or watching a desk or bedroom. The jumbo wall mounted display if a room full of people needs to see the number.
The measurements are the same. The jumbo has a large format screen made to be read across a room and mounts on a wall; the compact one is portable and has an alarm.
Count separately ventilated rooms, not floor area. One monitor describes the space it is in and not much else.
Head height, away from a window and away from a doorway. On a windowsill it measures the incoming air and tells you nothing about the room.
No, and confusing them is the most common mistake here. A filter purifier runs in an occupied room. An ozone machine makes a reactive gas, is used in an empty room, and the space is aired out before anyone goes back in.
No. We sell ozone machines, which work completely differently. If you want a filter based purifier you need a different supplier.
No. Our reusable mask and face visor carry no filtration rating and no protective standard. If you need certified PPE, buy equipment that carries the mark.
We ship across Europe. If you are outside Europe, ask us before ordering.

No, you can check out as a guest.
Yes, you have 14 days from delivery on an unused item. The refunds and returns page explains how.
No. We are online only, with no showroom and no collection point.
No. Everything we sell is self contained and needs no installer. The wall mounted monitor is a self powered unit, not a wired in device.
No. We sell instruments. We are happy to tell you which of ours fits your situation, but we do not carry out assessments.
Yes. Use the wholesale quote page and tell us how many rooms you need to cover.
Yes, a receipt is emailed on payment. Tell us on the wholesale form if you need particular details on it.
Yes, everything is new stock.
Yes. The contact page reaches a person, and if you tell us the room and the problem we will tell you honestly whether we sell anything that helps.
We will say so. There are several air quality instruments we do not stock, and pointing you elsewhere costs us less than a return.
Buying guide

Choosing a CO2 monitor

We sell a narrow range and we would rather you bought the right thing once. This is the short version of what a carbon dioxide reading tells you, what it does not, and how to pick between the two monitors.

What a CO2 monitor actually measures

Carbon dioxide in parts per million, plus temperature and humidity. Indoors, CO2 is mostly a headcount problem: people breathe it out all day, so when fresh air stops replacing the air in a room the level climbs. That makes it the simplest stand in for ventilation, which is otherwise invisible.

Reading the number

Outdoor air sits around 400 to 420 ppm, so that is the floor and no indoor room reads below it. A room with air genuinely moving through it usually stays under 800 ppm. Once a reading sits above roughly 1000 to 1500 ppm, the room is largely recycling the air already in it.

Those are ventilation benchmarks and not health limits. A high reading means the room needs more fresh air. It does not mean anything harmful has been detected, and a CO2 monitor is not a safety device.

The two minute test worth doing first

Note the reading, open a window, and watch what happens. Some rooms drop hundreds of ppm in a couple of minutes, which means ventilation is fine and the room just needed it. Others barely move, which tells you the airflow is not where you assumed. That single test is worth more than any absolute number, because it tells you whether the fix you were planning will work in that room.

Which of the two monitors

The measurements are identical, so it comes down to who needs to read it. The compact CO2 meter is palm sized at 108 g, reads 400 to 5000 ppm, refreshes every second and has an audible alarm, which suits one person checking several rooms or watching a bedroom or a desk.

The jumbo monitor is the wall mounted version with a large format screen. Buy that where a room full of people needs to see the number, because a reading on a wall gets acted on by whoever is nearest the window and a reading on a desk gets checked once a week.

How many you need

Count separately ventilated rooms rather than floor area. A room with its own door, windows and vents behaves differently from the one beside it, so one monitor describes its own space and little else. Two rooms sharing one open plan airflow can share a monitor; two closed rooms cannot.

Where to put it

Head height, away from a window and away from a doorway, and not where someone breathes directly onto it. A monitor on a windowsill measures the incoming air, reads reassuringly low, and tells you nothing about the room.

What these will not do

They do not detect carbon monoxide, which is a different gas needing its own alarm, and if you have any fuel burning appliance you should fit one regardless. They do not measure particulates such as PM2.5, or volatile organic compounds. Neither publishes an accuracy tolerance, so we do not quote one, and no calibration certificates are available.

Our ozone machines are also not air purifiers in the filter sense. Ozone is a respiratory irritant, so a space is treated while empty and aired out before it is used again.

Questions before you order

If you are not sure which monitor suits your room, or whether we sell the right instrument for your problem at all, ask first. If what you actually need is a particulate or VOC meter we will tell you, because that is cheaper for both of us than a return.
